About
Over the past 35 years, I have gained considerable experience in all sorts of media production with the latter 25 years as an interactive designer, developer, consultant, project and people manager.
I've worked with many different people and projects of many different sizes. Some of my work includes designing and building digital things for clients mostly in the arts and public sectors.
I love sharing my expertise through speaking, workshops, mentoring and consulting. I have written articles on creative practice, design thinking and what it was like to work in design before the internet, and I am available for conferences, industry events and anyone's random birthday parties.
I am also a visual and audio artist and illustrator. Sometimes I work in traditional analogue mediums like pencil, pastel, ink and paper, and sometimes I like to make soundscapes and digital works.
I specialise in:
- Digital art direction
- UX strategy & research
- Service, UX, UI design
- User research, usability and accessibility
- Creative consulting & mentoring
- Wireframing & scoping.
- Digital product prototyping
- Speaking engagements & workshops
- Illustrating and drawing
- Being a digital mischief

I was a make-up artist and part-time hip hop DJ, a Tank Girl lookalike and paste-up artist for Deadline comic in the 90s, and commercial studio junior in the late 80s and a robotic dancer in the early 80s. N.B. I will not do a demonstration of the latter, not even for 50 pence!
